Terms of Service

By accessing or using TopTypist at toptypist.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

TopTypist grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others.

You must not:

• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm any person
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security features of the Service
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to artificially inflate your scores or spam the leaderboard
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without prior written consent
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content through the Service

You may use the Service without an account for most features. Creating an account allows you to save results and track progress. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or negatively impact the experience of other users.

By submitting scores to the leaderboard, you grant TopTypist a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your username and score publicly on the platform.

Scores obtained through automated tools, bots, or any means that do not represent genuine human typing will be removed. Repeated abuse may result in account termination.

All content on the Service — including text, graphics, logos, lesson content, and software — is owned by or licenced to TopTypist and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

The typing test words, sentences, and code samples used in tests are either in the public domain, generated algorithmically, or used under fair use for educational purposes.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content on the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TopTypist and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
